About this course
Hadith are the recorded sayings, actions, and approvals of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and they form a central source of guidance alongside the Quran for understanding practical Islamic life. This course introduces students to a curated selection, drawn from widely respected collections, with attention to both meaning and practical relevance.
This is deliberately an introductory course. It teaches selected, well-known Hadith and basic terminology, such as the difference between a Sahih (rigorously authenticated) and Hasan (good) narration, at a level appropriate for a beginner. It does not claim to provide specialist Hadith authentication training, which is a distinct scholarly discipline requiring years of dedicated study; presenting a short course as equivalent to that would be misleading.
The curriculum draws on Imam Nawawi's Forty Hadith, a well-known and widely taught introductory collection, alongside selected material from Riyadhus Saliheen, both chosen for their practical focus on character, worship, and daily conduct. Every Hadith used in a lesson is verified against its recognized source and reference before being taught.

1. Imam Nawawi's Forty Hadith
A structured introduction to this widely taught collection, covering foundational topics in faith, worship, and conduct.
2. Selected Riyadhus Saliheen material
Practically focused Hadith on manners, kindness, patience, and daily life, chosen for their relevance to a student's real circumstances.
3. Introductory terminology
A basic, honest introduction to terms like Sahih and Hasan, explained as an introduction rather than specialist authentication training.
4. Prophetic character and leadership
Examining the Prophet's conduct in leadership, family life, and dealing with hardship as a practical model for personal character.
5. Daily Adhkar and manners
Practical remembrance phrases and everyday manners drawn from the Sunnah, covering eating, family life, and community relationships.
What a lesson looks like
A lesson typically opens with the Arabic text and translation of a single Hadith, read together and clarified word by word where needed.
The tutor explains the Hadith's context and its practical meaning, inviting the student to relate it to a real situation in their own life.
The session closes with a short discussion of how the lesson connects to daily conduct, such as patience, honesty, or kindness toward family.
